Three pole positions for Uhrane
16th May 2011

Geoff Uhrane made the perfect start to his weekend at the new Snetterton 300 circuit this weekend by claiming pole position in all three races.

Race 1 saw Championship favourite Scott Malvern make the better start with Uhrane putting him under pressure in the early part of the race. A gap developed between Malvern and Uhrane to then put Uhrane under pressure from Dutchman Slaghekke. A wiring fault on the Australians car caused him to come to a halt giving Jaman racing a one two three. Premier Power driver Cavan Corcoran in the Getem run Mygale took his seventh win in the Scholarship championship.

Race 2 saw Malvern again make the better start than Uhrane. Malvern won the race by 2.7 seconds ahead of Uhrane who finished 5 seconds ahead of Slaghekke. Premier Power drivers Dan de Zille and Matt Parry finished 4th and 5th.

Race 3 was headed by Malvern again at the first corner. A saftey car late in the race closed the field up but on the re-start Malvern got away and Uhrane and Buri where fighting going into turn one. With Buri on the outside and Uhrane cliping a kerb on the inside, this sent the Australian off into the gravel with team mate Tristan Mingay joining him. Matt Parry was showing a great improvement in pace making it upto fourth but after running wide late in the race could only manage eighth.

Next race meeting for the UK Championship is on 18th and 19th June at Brands Hatch. This meeting also forms part of the Eurocup with visitors from Holland, Denmark and Finland hopefully joining us.
