Formula Ford Full Race Spec Engine
Premier Power’s Formula Ford engines have been developed following many hours of dyno testing in addition to in-car testing. Our investment in using an engine test facility that has a dyno capable of measuring the most minute of improvements has allowed us to develop what we feel are the best engines available.
These engines are available to our customers on a lease-only basis because of the level of investment we have put into developing them. All engines are run-in and performance tested against our very own dyno reference engine to ensure each engine meets the strict performance tolerances we set.
Engines then have to go through our quality control inspection with several static tests before being dressed and sealed before dispatch. As part of the service we offer, we also like to attend a shakedown test with new customers to ensure the engine is correctly set up to give optimum performance.
For UK and Eurocup customers, they receive our track support service where we are on hand to download ECU data loggers to allow us to work with engineers and drivers to maximise performance. This data is strictly to be viewed by the race engineer and driver for that given car or engine. We do not show other customers’ data from other customers’ engines. For customers competing in other national championship, this service is available upon request, please contact us to discuss further.
Should you be fortunate enough to have your engine stripped by a scrutineer Premier Power will cover the cost for re-assembling this engine for you (labour, parts and dyno). This unique service is not offered by other engine suppliers and is our way of saying thank you for choosing Premier Power.
We also carry spare engines for customers to hire should they have a problem. This reduces customer costs in that they only lease one engine per car and are not required to lease spare engines. Our spare engines are at the same performance level as our race engines and customers can therefore rest assured that should a problem occur with their race engine, the engine replacing that will be of the same performance.
Drivers’ managers and fathers can also rest assured that we do not do “deals” with other competitors. As we impress on all our customers, the only deal we offer is that all our customers receive the best engines we can supply and the best level of service. Therefore as far as Premier Power customers are concerned, it is always a level playing field.
